VALUE and POTENTIAL

Now,let's talk about value and potential.
According to Merriam Webster's, value is defined as a relative worth, utility or importance.
potential refers to existing in possibility, capability of developing into actuality.

And today,I put to you that God sees in you a potential and He has placed a value that is greater than what you can ever perceive.

Just how great? Ask Paul. And all His disciples.

Very often, like in Katy's song, our values and perceptions are shaped and limited by our circumstances. We suppress the potential that our heavenly Father has placed in us. We are created in His image, with the LIMITLESS potential to achieve our tower of Babels.

But yet, very often, our dreams lie buried. Our talent unfulfilled.
Paul started off with the best of the best. He was educated in the best school, the Harvard of the ancient times in Tarsus.
He has a bright future in front of him, of the prestige and honor of becoming a Rabbi, the top job in those times.
But yet, he was always on a one-way ticket to failure until God called him and put him back on the right track.
HOW CAN WE EVER ACHIEVE OUR POTENTIAL?
1. HEAR from God.
POTENTIAL is WASTED if we choose to do it our way. God's ways are higher than our ways. Always.
Mat 6:33 Seek Him first the kingdom of God, and all these things will be added.
Ps 37:23 the footsteps of the righteous is ordred by God.
2. Healthy self esteem.
John 3:16
God places us a value that is impossible to measure by our limited minds. trouble comes when we let situations dictate our true worth. Words of criticism that get to us strap us down and prevent us from releasing the fireworks.
but yet we know we can.
Through Him and with Him. Phi 4:13
Jesus' disciples followed Him, and from a bunch of rag-tag no-hopers, they became the true fishers of men. history makers and world shakers.
3. STEPPING OUT!
i like the part of the song "...you just got to ignite the light, and let it shine. just own the night like fourth of july..."
the reference to Independence Day is apt.
Freedom.
He came to set us free from oppression, in our mind, body and soul.
that they said you can't do it.
and you believed you can't do it.
FIREWORKS are just plain sticks of explosives if nothing is done.
IGNITE, they release BEAUTY, AWE AND AMAZING LIGHT.
but yet, with courage, let's begin to break free of our mental limitations, and let us release the potential of our fireworks!
